As part of GIS Day celebrations, the Canadian Institute of Geomatics - New Brunswick Branch is
sponsoring a lunch presentation by Mr. Carl Duivenvoorden entitled "An Inconvenient Truth".
Interested conference attendees are invited to attend this presentation which will be held in the
Market Square Atrium. This event will be free and open to the public.
"An Inconvenient Truth" is a live version of the slideshow used by Al Gore in his Academy Award-
winning documentary, with updated slides and local references. Carl Duivenvoorden will cover what
global warming is, what the signs are, how it will affect us and what we can do about it.
The slideshow contains spectacular photographs, clear charts and tables, catchy graphics and sound
effects. The overall goal is to impact audiences, offer hope and - most importantly - motivate
commitment and action.
